The optical biopsy forcep is an integrated method for tissue identification and biopsy sampling. The device is introduced in the body via a sheath of comparatively smaller diameter and the integrated bridge at the proximal end allows the electro-optical spectral analysis by placing a fibre optic cable and illuminating light source. The cutting jaw at the distal end are mounted pivotally and allows a double jaw action for a better grasp over the tissues.
