Bipolar loops are designed to enhance the cutting and coagulation experience for the TURP surgery. The cutting effect is brought into affect through the generation of plasma as the loop heats up the saline solution of the tissue. This causes a gas bubble to develop that forms plasma which then ignites and vaporizes the tissue i.e., enable cutting.
