The intracorporeal pneumatic lithotripter LITHOMED system is an electromechanical device which fragments the intracorporeal stones by direct contact lithotripsy i.e., solid, rigid probe fragments the stones using a mechanism which is similar to that of a pneumatic jackhammer. Multiple shock waves are generated at a pin point precision after energizing the control unit by foot switch.
